In the Reflection

This morning
When you woke from
Whatever dream had taken your fancy
As I bent to wake you
Your gaze first fell on my face and you said

"You are so beautiful."

You could tell I barely heard, barely noticed
Barely let it fall into my ears
This unexpected notice from my sleep-filled babe
You, then, even more determined to be heard
Like tucking a coin into my pocket
Repeat the words, more loudly and with increased emphasis

"You - ARE - SOOO - beautiful, You really are"

Then I get it
Yes, I hear you and remember
Beauty comes from within the eye of the beholder
This beauty you see
Is the reflection of Love
The Love that has always filled your heart

And I gazing back
Feel your beauty in my heart
