How Easily Lost

The circles become spirals
The track that looks straight
May more closely be a figure eight
How often I have felt
So utterly and completely lost

Pausing now that I have
Lived more than a few years
Pausing now to look out
Over the fabric of my lifetime
Standing on the mountain of experiences
I have built as being me

Looking one way
I see the view of what has been
How easily I got lost down one dark ally
Or another dead end avenue
At the time it seemed all for the best
How easily lost

We flip and flap, dart here and there
I think I see the light and
Like a moth to a flame am drawn
Looking for true love
Looking to shed false hope

With another way of looking
I view toward the future
Imagine possibilities, setting goals
Harboring fantasies of what I might be
Who I could I be
What do I want to be?

My spirit guides tease me by singing
"If she knew what she wanted, I'd be givin' it to her"

I know what I want
Oddly tho, the sacred knowing
Of whom I was born to be
Is so easily lost to the discordant
Screeching sound of who I aught to be
Or who I shouldn't be

Help me most loving higher self
Mother father guide to stay on your path
While finding your way
I pray to be easily lost in your way
